REVIEW | L’Oreal Miss Baby Roll Mascara

I’ll hold my hands up – I can be a little bit of a snob when it comes to mascaras. Not because of price or brand, but just because I managed to find products that I loved a number of years ago, and I haven’t dared change them since! I’ve been using Lancôme’s Hypnôse since I was about 15, with Benefit’s They’re Real! joining my makeup list about four years ago.

Alas, my supply of mascara ran out recently at a time where my money situation wasn’t looking too great. I’d been seeing more and more about L’Oreal’s Miss Baby Roll mascara, and with it being a decent price, I figured it was as good a time as ever to try it out! I opted for the regular (i.e. non-waterproof) type in black.

So, first off, I’m one of those people who is too easily drawn in by attractive packaging… ESPECIALLY if it’s pink. As ashamed as I am to admit it, the first thing that caught my attention was the fact that it has a pretty baby pink-coloured lid!

Aside from my obsession with mirroring the life of a Barbie doll, my main concern was obviously going to be the finished look I got from the mascara. My go-to eye makeup look is always one that isn’t too heavy, but also isn’t exactly completely au naturale; I’m a huge fan of big, voluminous lashes. At the same time, I’m always determined not to go down the route of the awful, clumpy spider-like look that was big in 2010! I always seemed to end up with that result whenever I tried drugstore mascaras, so I was a little wary when testing out this one.

I was so impressed with how it looked! There were no clumps at all (not even after a few more coats!), and it gave length and volume straight away without much effort. Not only that, but it stayed like this all day! I quite often end up the victim of crumbling mascara irritating my eye by the end of the day, but I’m genuinely impressed with how well this holds.

I’ve been running around telling just about anyone who’ll listen that I managed to snap this up for just £7.99 – it’s an absolute steal! Plus, it’s definitely changed up my attitude towards my mascara habit!
