After much stress, many tears and tantrums and only a few crates of energy drinks, I received my university results yesterday – I’ve passed my final year and have been awarded an Upper Second Class honours degree!! That means that somehow, I’ll be graduating at the start of next month with a 2:1 in BA (Hons) International Business from Glasgow Caledonian University.
Given how challenging this past year has been, and the fact that I admittedly started work on my dissertation a lot later than I should’ve (a LOT later), I’m honestly still trying to get my head around it. Without sounding too dramatic, I really didn’t think I was going to get to this point. I was insanely close to dropping out around Christmastime, and as much as I tried my hardest not to make it apparent to anyone, I really thought I’d actually messed up my dissertation at the last minute. So, yeah! There we go. Four years, done.
I just wanted to keep this as a little update, but I also want to say a MASSIVE thank you to all of you over the last year and a half. As much as most of my student-themed posts have been a bit tongue-in-cheek, I’ve received so many encouraging and supportive comments and messages on the subject from some of you. It might not seem like much to you at the time of posting, but receiving each and every message gave me a little bit more of a push to get through my studies. And here we are! So, thank you very, very much.
I’m now off to celebrate through the weekend! I should also mention that in the last two weeks I’ve returned home for the summer and started a full-time job, so I’ve been neglecting the blog a little bit – nothing new there, of course. But with the stress of waiting for results gone, I’m hoping normal service will be resumed soon!
